“80 Pages, 1 Subject” is a transcription of a journal started on November 1, 2006, and kept for a year. The emphasis in this journal was freewriting, the practice of writing quickly without critical judgment. Therefore, the pieces are posted just as originally written, and without commentary. The transcriptionist breaks each day’s handwritten entry into pieces, then classifies the pieces using categories and tags. Patterns in the work are revealed, with the intention of answering the question “What do I write about?”
