{"id":10581,"date":"2021-06-12T10:08:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-12T17:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gemtactics.net\/wordpress\/?p=10581"},"modified":"2021-06-19T14:04:23","modified_gmt":"2021-06-19T21:04:23","slug":"abstract-bird","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gemtactics.net\/wordpress\/2021\/06\/abstract-bird\/","title":{"rendered":"Abstract Bird"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I attended the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/la.shambhala.org\/program-details\/?id=479718\" target=\"_blank\">Slow Handwriting <\/a>workshop offered by LA Shambhala with <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/barbarabash.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Barbara Bash<\/a> over zoom. I am a fan of Barbara Bash&#8217;s calligraphy and brushwork, not to mention her contemplative approach. But for some reason, this workshop didn&#8217;t click for me. We made a lot of asemic scribbles, and drew some free form abstractions which we then attempted to turn into letters. Also practiced the &#8220;Heaven\/Earth\/Human&#8221; meditation by looking out the window and writing words and phrases in the mode of each realm.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But this &#8220;bird&#8221; was the only work that really seemed worthwhile to me. Maybe I&#8217;m being too judgmental.
