The background is interesting, but not interesting enough that I hesitate to cover it up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then I started heavily stitching the borders of each patch. I&#8217;m using the cotton\/silk blend No. 5 thread from Beautiful Silks that I&#8217;ve dyed various shades over time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was inspired by the borders of the Aymara textiles that Shelley Burian showed in the Woven Cultures course I recently took.  It is called &#8220;Inka edging.&#8221; It gives me a solemn feeling of resonance to be using the same edging ancient peoples used.
