It’s new and made in the USA. I wanted to experience what weaving is like with non-knitting yarn. When I ordered, all they had available was black, flamingo, and burgundy shades so that’s what I got.

Weaving on the Mirrix Saffron loom with Array yarn

I love gradients, so I decided to weave the shades in sequence. I made the black gradient yesterday, then decided to weave a central strip with “Flamingo.” Now I’m starting to repeat the black gradient in reverse.

It’s very absorbing and I like the way it’s turning out although it looks a little lopsided in the photo. I’m already thinking about the next piece. I have a lot of string, thread, yarn or what-have-you that I’d like to intersperse with the “real” weaving yarn.

It’s raining. It’s been raining for about a day and a half. It’s supposed to clear up this afternoon. Many of the fall leaves have been knocked down. I got most of my shrubs and the catalpa tree planted before the rain started, so that’s a good soaking for them.
