Entering a different mode. I’m not making very much at all with cloth, paper, fiber. I’m just stitching once a week, on Friday afternoons. I miss all the making I was doing, but my days seem more relaxed. There’s a lot to do, as well as a lot of laziness. A paradox. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m working in the garden every day. Harvesting, watering. We have lots of raspberries and blueberries for eating and for freezing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m reading. I haven’t done a lot of reading for years, but this summer I seem to be into it. I finished Ursula LeGuin’s The Dispossessed<\/em> and Octavia Butler’s Parables<\/em>. Then I started this huge book The Dawn of Everything<\/em>, 500 pages plus footnotes. I find it fascinating. I didn’t know I was so interested in human social evolution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m getting more exercise, back exercises and walking and riding my e-bike. Deer seem curious about the e-bike, especially the young ones. This fawn allowed me to pass by quite close three times in a row before it moved away. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m practicing relaxation. Relaxing into summer. Something that seems foreign to my life, but why not. These ferns and lilies line the front (back?) of our house, near the driveway. They take no care, get no extra water, yet bloom like this every summer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
