We hiked up Schoodic Mountain this morning. Now I\u2019m overwhelmed with stuff to do before going to Connecticut for mom\u2019s services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I don\u2019t regret it. It was a beautiful morning to be outdoors. And I indulged my obsession with the Peak Finder app, pointing it at mountains all around me. And I want to climb every one of them. Doable? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This tiny twig of a tree put forth a gigantic leaf. It\u2019s turning color in a beautiful way that reminds me of patchwork. Quercus rubra<\/em>, I think. Northern Red Oak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mountains to the east – there’s one named “Catherine”. The app shows that we’re on Schoodic Mountain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
