Crocheting a baby blanket<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It’s Thanksgiving. I’m cooking a pecan pie. A little later, will roast squash and brussels sprouts, make mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. We are going over to a cousins’ house. Even so, I cook a lot of dishes because we’re vegan and it is helpful to bring traditional food in versions we can eat. Works out fine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m crocheting a baby blanket. It is a place of trust. I’ve been crocheting so long, my fingers know exactly what to do. I’m working on it last thing at night and first thing in the morning. I’ve made a few mistakes, but they don’t show. I was nervous about the yarn – chose wool – is it a bit scratchy? Well, it can be a car blanket or rolled into a bumper. I thought it might take me longer than I have (Clarke & Sarah’s baby due in January), but it is moving right along. I’m loving the yarn colors as they pass through my fingers.
