Freezing rain. The car was coated with a layer of ice. We had to scrape the windshield before heading to town for groceries. The weather forecast calls for a \u201cwintry mix.\u201d I always pause over that terminology. They could just say \u201cmix.\u201d There\u2019s no corresponding summery mix. I like the sound of it though, \u201cwintry mix.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve achieved purling! It\u2019s a small achievement, but one I really want to celebrate. Stockinette stitch! Norwegian style. Knitting has mystified me for so long. Suddenly I get it. Photo shows my garter stitch swatch (with mistakes) and my stockinette swatch. Next swatch, I\u2019ll do some ribbing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My little cherry blossom weaving is done. There are three strips warped on this Saffron loom and this is the middle one. One more to go before I cut these off. I want to finish them as bracelets, but not sure how I\u2019ll do it. Always more to learn. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I stopped at my local yarn store on the way home from groceries. She was having an inventory sale. I bought some wool wash, but nothing else. Tired of consuming, for now. As I completed my purchase, we were discussing the weather, of course.
