We spent the night at camp. Our first overnight there since the rebuilding. It seems like it was a long time coming. It was not a comfortable place to be – freezing cold until the woodstove caught up around 2 am. No sinks for washing up, It’s still a construction zone. Tools and hardware everywhere. Just two dining chairs, nothing soft to sit in. Not enough blankets, which was an oversight. I could have brought more but I was more focused on bringing our Thanksgiving contributions to the dinner beforehand. As it was, I slept okay in coat, hat, and gloves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An opportunity to watch my mind being uncomfortable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I guess the overnight was more symbolic of our devotion to this place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By morning, things were better. One of those times when you’re grateful the night is over. The morning view over the lake (Donnells Pond) was peaceful, a little smoke rising off the water. That’s Black Mountain on the left. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sam was quite busy draining the water system in advance of the very cold temperatures forecast tonight. Here he’s in the canoe trying to get the weighted valve out of the water. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And here he’s working on draining the thick black pipe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
