This tree is in the willow grove – or the Immanent Grove as I call it, after a location in Ursula LeGuin’s The Wizard of Earthsea<\/em>. I walk past it occasionally on my daily walk. The willow wands are turning more yellow every day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like it when trees stand alone and I can get a view of their whole form. I don’t know if it’s that good for them, to grow alone and not entwined with others in a forest. It probably depends on the tree species, the ecology, the soil and the life it holds around the tree. It seems to me that willows often grow relatively separate from other trees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clouds gathered. I passed the community garden. No real signs of life there yet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve been coming up with haiku on my walk. I write them down when I get home. It seems March triggers a desire to write haiku. In past years, I’ve noticed a waning of haiku spirit in summer. Why would that be? I would like to try to write summer haiku this year as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As clouds gather<\/em>
and obscure the sun, <\/em>
I wonder about my Shadow. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
