Stopped at our favorite little coffee shop, the one with no indoor seating but delicious coffee. We’ve gotten into the habit of taking our coffee on the road to a picturesque spot and drinking it in the car. Today it was the little marina at Curtis Cove, in the pelting rain. Fog creeping in. No one was around. Seagulls sat on the pier looking glum. I was trying to appreciate the special beauty of the place in the rain and mist. I hopped out of the car for a moment to take pictures.

Island

Shoreline

Once we got home I had a lot of energy for projects. I am close to finishing framing the golden houses. They will go into a gallery sometime in May. There’s a pile of framed work forming. I look at the fabrics and remember where I got them. Two shweshwe cloth from South Africa, two from my stash purchased long ago, one purchased in India, one a gift from a friend, one a locally purchased remnant, and one I don’t remember. Three more to go.

Framing project

And happily, I got my problematic knitting straightened out. I unknit three rows and redid the join, determined not to twist it this time. It worked! Somehow two stitches were lost in the process, but that’s the way it goes. I like having my hands in this soft purple mass. Good thing because it’s going to take awhile.

Going again

Inside vs. outside.
