Last Wednesday, Sam and I went to Montreal for a few days of sightseeing and cycling. It was hot, so hot. But we survived and made some good memories. Some of my photos:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The waterfront along the St. Lawrence River offers plenty of interesting sights. I didn\u2019t know that Montreal was on an island. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had Italian the first night and very creative vegan sushi the second night. At home we don\u2019t eat out often because we don\u2019t enjoy the food available or the prices. So it\u2019s a treat to be able to take pleasure in a few nice meals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a lot of graffiti in Montreal. And a few nice murals. I really liked this sun\/moon outside the sushi restaurant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

More architecture. Sorry this is so dark. I found it so interesting to have a little room built onto the side of a house like that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We tried a few coffee shops. This was from Cafe Velours. The barista was very friendly and enjoyed talking about Montreal and our bicycling plans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We visited the Jean Talon market. A mind-blowing amount of fresh fruits and vegetables were for sale. Most of them were grown in Quebec. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had to climb a spiral staircase covered with a massive vine to get to our apartment. Sam dropped an Airbud (little white earpiece for listening to podcasts, etc.) while on the stairs. Luckily he was able to find it using Find My Phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We met a guy in a little parklet. Sam is good at talking to strangers; me, not so much. This guy was a woodworker. He was trying to describe the tables he worked on in a mixture of French and English. They were hard to visualize from his description. The next day at a coffee shop, we saw these:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
