{"id":3834,"date":"2015-01-02T14:39:38","date_gmt":"2015-01-02T21:39:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gemtactics.net\/wordpress\/?p=3834"},"modified":"2015-01-03T08:11:15","modified_gmt":"2015-01-03T15:11:15","slug":"sound-and-fury","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gemtactics.net\/wordpress\/2015\/01\/sound-and-fury\/","title":{"rendered":"signifying nothing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Faculty of discrimination &#8211;<br \/>\nWhat is worth reading and what is not<br \/>\nWhat is worth paying attention to and what is not<br \/>\nWhat is worth listening to and what is not<br \/>\nWhat is worth spending time doing and what is not<\/p>\n<p>Somehow life has become clogged by inputs and the discriminating faculty has been overwhelmed. <\/p>\n<p>Then again, my starting point was pretty discriminating, so I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ve regressed too much. <\/p>\n<p>Interesting read over the holidays: Marie Kondo&#8217;s &#8220;The life-changing magic of tidying up;  the Japanese art of decluttering and organizing.&#8221; I picked up this small book on impulse from a bookstore counter display, a gift for me. It is quirky &#8211; or maybe just Japanese &#8211; and personal. Her method centers around the emotion of &#8220;a spark of joy.&#8221; The last chapter was so lyrical I almost felt tears start to form. <\/p>\n<p>I found this quote today reading an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utne.com\/media\/ray-johnson-zm0z14wzsau.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">article about Ray Johnson<\/a>.
