Dr. Cornel West\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s title at Harvard is Professor of the Practice of Public Philosophy. I like the name of his subject but I shortened it to Practical Philosophy. And here it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s more personal than public. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am struggling with white supremacy, activism vs contemplation, and the place of arts and crafts in general. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s good to struggle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was going to cover all the black and white checks in my base tablecloth. Then I thought I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d expose some of them following Jude\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s concept of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153magic.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Now I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m thinking I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll expose some of them as an expression of the anti-racist struggle. But it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s such a mild gesture really. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had a dream about Deb Lacativa last night. I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know her except from her blog<\/a>. In my dream, she vigorously told some guests she had to go work on their \u00e2\u20ac\u0153wgalo.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (More Whiffs, Glimmers and Left Oeuvres, name of her website.) She held up a lovely piece of stitching for admiration. She was in a wheelchair. I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know where I got that idea.
