Saffron Weave Along

A three-week weaving project on the Mirrix Saffron loom, led by Claudia Chase.

I learned some new techniques and practiced some familiar ones.

New: pick and pick, soumack knotting, four-selvedge weaving. Familiar: weaving in opposite directions (meet and separate) and slit weaving.

Woven from bottom and top to get four selvedges
Packing in last weft, one stitch at a time, with tapestry needle
Off the loom, ends not yet woven in

Already warped again for another, this time a mask!

Love it! I do that too, at the end where it is squishy…one stitch at a time with a curved needle 🙂
    This one is really grand.
