Golden houses backgrounds

I had a lot of fun applying a layer of stitching embellishments to each of the 12 golden houses. Then I chose some tentative backgrounds to stitch them to, eventually planning for a patchwork quilt top. I put the work away for awhile to rest after this exercise.

The largest piece, castle on a hill
Three stories, one room each. It has a doorknob and a foundation.
Another tiny doorknob and a pink scrap on the roof peak. One of the simpler ones.
I really liked how these split stitch window frames turned out.
My favorite piece, due to the extravagant blanket stitch shingles and the strange foundation planting. This “plant” was formed by extending the printed cloth’s design with stitch.
