Unusual sights from my yard –

This plant, spotted beebalm, develops these very gaudy crowns with pink bracts in late summer. I think it’s amazing. Also – it’s a perennial that moved mysteriously about three feet away from where I originally planted it. I assume it finds the new spot more to its liking.

I noticed this beetle on some dead grass near the garden gate, going somewhere fast. Its color is spectacular!
