Getting to know a cloth
I’m getting to know this beautiful piece of cloth, a gift from my friend Suzanne.
It has two tears in it. One short, one long. More than tears really, they need to be patched rather than just sewn together.
It has a beautiful red border. There are a lot of colors woven in, including some gold metallic threads. It is very thin and has a soft hand.
I’m going to attach it temporarily to the shoulders and back sleeves of my robe. The idea is to allow it to drape and float, while remaining firmly attached to the garment.
