What it’s like
On the whole, spring has been chilly, wet, and windy here. More storming last night, rain and wind. The chives have been in bud for weeks, it seems, waiting for some warm sunshine to burst into bloom. Not yet.

There was a hummingbird trying to get nectar from a tight bud. Maybe she did get some — or maybe she was just testing.
And it’s Memorial Day weekend already. So early this year. We are going to southern Maine for the weekend. Old Orchard Beach. It’s famous for being a place Canadians congregate in the summer. Not this year.
I purposely pulled over on Route 1 (a busy road) so I could take a photo of this abandoned house. The contrast between the exuberant azalea and the neglected building appealed to me. I peeked in the window and saw a lot of black plastic garbage bags, full and waiting in the living room. I couldn’t see much else.

i would buy that house if i could
It’s a sweet place, deserves some love.
Catherine~ Oh gorgeous house/flowers/land!!! That is just the kind of place that we’d say, “I could live there”. Dreams.
The little buds are so sweet. Hope your weekend is fun. I look forward to hearing how it was, what was different/same.
xo
I could live there. Yes.
I love the look of well worn houses.
The settings are dreamy, and evoke the right mood for rainy days.
