I saw this little one in the driveway as I was coming home from a bike ride. I spoke to him/her a little bit, but it was a one-way conversation. I wanted to touch those quills to see if they were soft, seeing as it was a baby, but I didn’t dare.

Those feathers are gorgeous! And they sure do hide well. Their little dance is great. I’d love to see it put to music! And the babies are so sweet, doing the lil dance too. How lucky are you for catching sight of one of these amazing birds.
I had fun making this post about them. If I were ever to get a tattoo, it would be a woodcock! Sorry I forgot to set comments on, fixed now. Gosh, that default setting bugs me!

They are everywhere here too. Considered sort of a pest by most, but I love them.
