70!
I spent my birthday in a snowstorm. It was wonderful.
Two long heartfelt phone calls in the morning, and some shoveling. Then a trip to the island for a little coffee break and some cross-country skiing. It was very cold, so we only skied for about 20 minutes. Here’s a photo to show it actually happened.

(The odd hand positions are due to my fingers being numb with cold. I was trying to find a way to simultaneously hold my poles and warm up my fingers.)
It was snowing most of the day. We drove home through a wintry landscape that looked like a scene out of Doctor Zhivago. Very beautiful. The roads had been plowed, but were not clear and the plowed-up snowbanks were white, not mucky or slushy. Now it’s snowing a little more, and the drifts are sparkling with diamonds.
Catherine~ Ah, Happy Birthday to you!! What a way to celebrate YOU!
Stay warm,
Nancy
Thanks, Nancy. I walked outdoors today even though I didn’t want to. I was warm-ish at 15 degrees.
Happy Birthday! I was delighted to discover recently that a new friend was also turning 70 this year and she declared we should form a 1956 club. So here’s to all of us who’ve made it this far. May our slide into a new decade be grace-full.
Thanks, Liz! I’m a proud member of the 1956 club! Yay us!
Happy birthday and welcome to your 70s!
Thank you, Stephanie! So far so good 🙂
