Turkeys in the yard
We don’t see them in the yard very often. On the roads, yes. It seems special when a large flock visits the yard. There were a few hens and a lot of half-grown chicks. They were eating something in the grass until I opened the door. Then they slowly meandered toward the woods.
They eat ticks here so always glad to see them
Ticks were really bad here earlier in the year but not so much now. Still glad to see the turkeys.
Catherine~ Aw, nice. I just looked for our local turkeys recently when driving up to the gate. I haven’t seen them in ages. I always enjoy that slight blueness in their heads. ha.
There are a lot around here but I rarely see them in our yard. It was a nice surprise.
