Squash fest
This is the squash garden at home. Framed by a mullein in the back left, and beans at the right. I really enjoy growing winter squash. Its growth and harvest spans the summer season and leads me gently into fall. And it grows well for me, although it can be difficult to get the seedlings started (fending off squash beetles).

Everything looks great at the moment, but these leaves will soon become battered, dried out, and mildewed. The pristine baby squash will grow larger and become attractive to chewing by chipmunks or bigger animals. I’m trying to expect it to happen, so it doesn’t come as such a shock! Meanwhile, I have these photos of peak hopefulness.

Catherine~ What a lovely, bursting garden! Does one good to see it 🙂
I enjoy it so much.
