Morning
I almost have enough squares to complete the garden quilt. (The top left has a 3×3 standing in for a 4×4.) The top third is not stitched together, just laid out on a trial basis. I kept my focus off color for now, just wanted to use the squares I had. I’ll fine-tune the color choices and make a few extra squares to bring it into balance (whatever that means!). It’s mesmerizing to look at. I really like the appearance of all the moons. And my mind is leaping ahead to the next step of quilting it.
It looks like the fog is coming down the road. The sun was lighting up the fog in the distance. About 7am this morning when I was taking the bag of trash down to the end of the driveway. There was ice on the windshield for the first time this fall.
I’m loving the mix of colors and four-patch sizes … keeps the eye happily moving to and fro
I’m having a great time doing it.
The garden quilt is stunning! A definite chill in the air on the coast of Northern California tonight.
Where are you in Northern California? I used to live in Napa, many years ago.
We’re about 40 miles south of the Oregon border, somewhat surrounded by Redwood National Park. How interesting that you lived in Napa, such lovely country. I moved here from San Francisco.
That area of California is so beautiful. Sometimes I miss it. I didn’t appreciate Napa enough when I lived there!
It is a beautiful beacon of light this quilt! The road pic is amazing…such magic and mystery pulling me in. I want to go down that road.
Beacons of light! Yes, indeed. It’s a theme lately.
