Garden days, cloth dreams

Rain. Lots of it. And thunder. I scurried around yesterday afternoon to spread hay mulch and do some ongoing garden cleanup. Harvest the rest of the bumper cucumber crop and remove the dead vines.

Garden in the rain.
Planted the last shrub from Wild Seed plant sale at camp. A bush honeysuckle.
The Resina calendula flowering prolifically – these were planted from seed, late July
The Zeolight calendula, only one flower so far, but it’s beautiful
The stack of squares piling up in my cupboard

I’m becalmed as far as making goes. Putting the garden to bed is taking up a lot of time. I dream about what i’ll make with these squares. I’m excited about trying out the math in different ways. Then I imagine just doing a random joining of things – how that might look. It’s a good question, how the vision forms and comes into existence.

This is my first time growing calendula. I don’t know what took me so long! I’m still figuring out what to do with it. Maybe try some tea!
